MTV = Most Talented VJ Carson Daly

by Danielle Meyers

Many kids dream of being a VJ on MTV. Carson Daly wasn't one of them. In fact, the thought of being a VJ never even crossed his mind. Yet, this heart-throb with his boyish good looks and cool attitude has captured the hearts of millions of teenage music fans around the world. Music trends are made on TRL by Carson Daly. He hangs out with anyone who is anyone in the music industry, and whether his guest is DMX or N'sNYC, Carson has the innate ability of being able to make them feel at home on his set.

While audiences clamour to be a part of his show, Carson is truly amazed by all of the attention he gets. In an interview TeenSpeak did with him at MTV's studios recently, this top MTV VJ confessed that one of the biggest surprises he has had in his career was when Jim Carrey yelled down the hall, "Hey Carson!!" "I was surprised that he even knew my name," he told us.

MTV, which according to music obsessed teenagers, is so on their game as the hottest music station in the world, was right on target when they hired Carson. Whether or not he recognizes his own fame, Carson Daly is host of one of MTV's hottest shows this season.

TeenSpeak got first hand experience of Carson while on the set of TRL for the live show which featured actress Charlize Theron from "The Cider House Rules." As we made our way to our assigned seats on the set, a mammoth stretch limousine pulled up across the street from the all-windowed set. Suddenly, lots of kids poured out, jumping and screaming just for a glance or a wave from Carson.

While Carson never thought that people would ever be screaming and throwing themselves at him one day, he also never thought that he would be rubbing shoulders with today's hot stars ranging from Marilyn Manson to the Backstreet Boys. One of his main dreams was to be a DJ on a local radio station, and he was thrilled when he got an internship at KCMJ in Palm Springs, California.
