Imagine being 5’7, 181 pounds and having defenders 6’5, 250 + pounds barreling down on you as you are returning a punt. Piece of cake? Well to the diminutive Delvin Joyce, returning punts is not as scary as it looks.

The lightening quick half back was a lone bright spot on a troubled Giants’ special team unit last year. Teaming up with new addition Brian Mitchell will likely form a devastating one-two punch on special teams. Joyce has never seen his size as a barrier to making it in football.

“I am always too short, too small to do something,” said Joyce. “But there’s always a way to make something happen. I was a walk on in college. Nobody had heard of me. I went out there like a crazy man trying to make the play and that gave me the confidence to come here.”

Joyce will continue to turn heads and be a force to be reckoned with for opposing special team units.
